Weight plates for progressive overload
Getting stronger happens step by step. With the right weight plates, you can build strength with purpose, in your home gym or at the gym. Combine them with a barbell and train your whole body. Use heavy plates for large muscle groups in exercises such as squats and deadlifts. Use lighter plates and change plates for smaller muscle groups and to make progress in explosive lifts such as cleans and snatches.
Different weight plates at ZEUZ
At ZEUZ, you will find weight plates with a bore diameter of 50.4 mm. This is the standard (Olympic) size for weight plates, and they fit directly on our barbells. The weight plates (bumper plates) are available in different types of rubber, as sets or individually. The advantage of bumper plates is that you can safely drop the barbell with plates from height because they absorb impact. This is ideal for, among other things, Olympic weightlifting and CrossFit. They are also kinder to your floor.
- Recycled Rubber: extremely durable and often the most affordable choice
- Virgin Rubber: pure rubber, making it thinner so more plates fit on your barbell.
- Virgin Rubber with minimal bounce: higher density, allowing the plates to settle faster after a drop

Frequently Asked Questions about Weight Plates
How much weight should I choose for my weight plates?
This depends on your training goal. Are you a beginner? Then start with lighter plates to learn your technique. Advanced users can use heavier weights.
Can I use weight plates in my home gym?
Absolutely! Weight plates are ideal for home use. With a few plates and a bar, you can do a whole range of exercises. This way, you don't have to leave the house for a workout and can still train in a versatile way.
Which exercises are the most popular with weight plates?
Many athletes choose the classics: squats, bench press, deadlifts, and shoulder presses. These 'big lifts' engage multiple muscle groups for maximum growth. Want more variety? Then use the plates for lunges, planking, or in CrossFit exercises.
What should I pay attention to when lifting weight plates?
Pay attention to your posture and try to lift with a straight back. Keep the weight plate close to your body and avoid twisting or pulling with your lower back.
What types of weight plates does ZEUZ offer and what are their advantages?
ZEUZ offers various weight plates for different training goals. The bumper plates are made from recycled rubber, shock-absorbing, and suitable for intensive indoor and outdoor use. Change plates are lighter, ranging from 0.5 to 5 kg, and ideal for precise weight progression. For advanced athletes, there are also competition weight plates that meet IWF standards, with minimal deviation and a reinforced steel insert for maximum durability. This way, you can always choose the right plate at ZEUZ for your level and training.
